New Technology for Hospitality Industry Charges More Than Caffeine Levels

The innovative product design and manufacturing company, Milano Design International, has launched ChargeCentral. Positioned as the first fully integrated furniture range of its kind, the green wire-free platform appliances are capable of charging electronic devices.
Purposely designed for the hospitality industry, the creative firm has amalgamated a pioneering charging interface into both new as well as existing furniture, to allow customers to charge any electronic equipment, including mobile phones and digital cameras, while enjoying their coffee.
ChargeCentral is said to use technology based on conductive charging, which has the capacity to charge up to five devices at any one given time and to also save power when the platform is not in use.
The innovative piece of design has also been lauded for its green credentials, securing an Energy Star 5 rating – the industry’s highest possible classification which only the most efficient devices are awarded.
In terms of safety, ChargeCentral also performs strongly here, with the charging mat designed to shut off automatically the moment it comes into contact with anything except the Milano receiver.
The clever charging technology has apparently come about as a result of a leading global coffee chain requesting the design, according to Daran Charlton, responsible for client liaison at Milano Design International. He commented on the development, “As WiFi has become available in many retail outlets, a sleek charging platform is the next natural step – almost any location offering customer hospitality can benefit from this product.”
