Coffee outlook optimistic

Although the UK is in general recession, the UK Coffee industry is optimistic about maintaining current growth levels through out 2009 and into 2010.

Though current trends for added value are showing in the coffee industry, growth levels have remained constant through out the recession period.

Part of this is attributed to a change in our national drinking habits. For many, coffee is now a way of life instead of just a luxury.
Also with a lot of  people concerned with their financial outgoings, a trip out for a decent coffee is seen as an affordable treat instead of the more expensive luxuries we would have seen 12 months ago.

Jason Mooring, General Manager here at Caffe Society explained  “Coffee sales have not been affected by the downturn of the last 12 months” adding “March was actually a record month for coffee sales, our own brand Super Crema Coffee Beans have been literally flying out of the door”

With many companies and individuals looking to change direction/diversify, coffee seems to be the way forward in these uncertain times.
