Employment Initiative Funding Results in New Coffee Shop

Having lost his job in manufacturing, Aldwyn Jenkins created himself a success story with the opening of Refresh Coffee in Tredegar, South Wales, thanks to funding supplied by JobMatch.

Since just last year, the coffee business has grown consistently, to the point where two additional members of staff were appointed, with Jenkins also considering sending his employees to London for barista training, in order to hone the service offered to his venue’s visitors.

Commenting on how Refresh Coffee has been received amongst local residents Jenkins said, "We’ve become a bit of a local institution, with a lot of regulars coming in every day for coffee, lunch or a snack." He added, "It’s great to see these familiar faces – to me, it means that we must be doing something right."

In terms of the assistance Jenkins received from JobMatch, not only did the employment initiative supply him with the funds needed to start his business, but it has also continued to support the former manufacturer throughout the course of the year. And JobMatch has seemingly not been disappointed by the entrepreneurial efforts and innovation that Jenkins has shown. As well as being a great businessman, he has also created a friendly working environment, where all of the staff that JobMatch has placed at the venue enjoy the positive surroundings.

Having become part of the community in Tredegar, Refresh Coffee would not have been the success it is today without the support of JobMatch, said Jenkins.
