Bike ride across the United States for the CoffeeKids

Did you realise that there are some 125 million people involved in the coffee industry? This is not necessarily the first thing that springs to mind when you go to the nearest coffee shop for your latte on the way into work in the morning. However, there are two men in Coventry who do think about this and who have decided to cycle across the United States of America for the CoffeeKids charity.
The two friends, Dayle Walker and Steven Prime, met at school and have planned an ambitious schedule for themselves. They have decided to cycle some 3,000 miles in just 30 days (that’s an average of 100 miles per day – ouch!) for their cause.
What is CoffeeKids exactly? Steven has explained that it is a charity which gives support to communities involved in growing coffee based in Central and South America. This charity-cyclist owns a coffee house in the Coventry Transport Museum and has a particular soft spot for the charity.
The BBC has reported this story on their website. The two men will be cycling with a car in tow behind them, to film and record their ambitious journey. There are also plans to keep a blog to keep the public informed about their trials and tribulations en route.
So when does this epic adventure begin? The long cross-country starts on 25 July. Keep your eyes peeled to hear how the two cyclists get on…
