San Francisco coffee shop steps up its brewing act

Ma'velous Coffee Bar

The west coast American city of San Francisco has a funky creative vibe and, according to recent reports, this is affecting the brewing process for its coffee in a wine bar called Ma’Velous.
What is going on? The coffee scene is apparently abuzz with discussion about the venue’s new brewing techniques which have been described as ‘elevating the act of brewing coffee to an art form.’ First, the choice of coffees that are used are high quality, specialty brews and professional baristas are employed to prepare the coffee. Secondly, the brewing techniques are varied to suit the coffee and there are six different ways used to brew the blends.

To this end, a variety of equipment is used, collected from many different nations, from France to Japan, to create just the right result. The machines and gadgets allow the professional baristas to infuse, add pressure and temperature to precise and varying degrees.

The founder of the wine bar has been quoted as saying that the various options for brewing the coffee ensures that the complexity of each drink is fulfilled, whether the sensory taste experience is of fruit, an acidic flavour or with a butter-like element. Philip Ma, the founder, emphasises that bitterness is what he is trying to avoid and does so by only selecting high quality coffee.
Ma’Velous also pays attention to the atmosphere of its bar and coffee shop and includes live music to ensure that coffee lovers maximise their experience.
