Macmillan’s coffee morning events continue

Plans are afoot all over the country to contribute towards the event, which is organised by the Macmillan Cancer Support charity. The purpose of the coffee mornings is twofold: to raise awareness about the charity and its work and also to raise funds for the good cause.
Many people have been involved and events are being held up and down the country. Here are two such examples:
In Wootton Village Hall there will be a coffee morning. This is a traditional event with all the coffee morning classic ingredients in place – delicious homemade cakes and a raffle located in the hub of the local community. The prizes from the raffle have been donated by local business and include a trip to Woburn Safari Park, a favourite with families.
Another example is the coffee morning being held at the Crowland Outlet Garden Centre. Although this is not normally a venue for a coffee morning, it shows the goodwill and enthusiasm of all sorts of people to the charity and its work. Free tea and coffee will be served and customers who attend will be invited to make donations to Macmillan.
This World’s Biggest Coffee Morning idea has grown over the years. In 2010, it is reported that over 43,000 coffee mornings were held in the UK and their collective fund-raising reached over £8 million. Many people have had personal experience of the disease and appreciate only too well the work done by Macmillan Cancer Support
