Africa’s Fine Coffee Conference and Exhibition

Coffee is coming home to the African country of its alleged origins. Well, coffee has been grown in Ethiopia for a long time, but the African Fine Coffee Conference and Exhibition is to take place there in early 2012, in celebration of the coffee bean.
The event is to be held in Addis Ababa and may of the countries with a coffee growing industry have agreed to attend the conference. It is expected that there will be people attending the event from many spheres of the coffee industry, ranging from the producers of the coffee bean, those involved in the roasting and preparation of it, right through to those professionals involved in the subsequent sale and purchase of the coffee on the global coffee market.
As well as forming a great place to network, the event also boasts a forum for discussion of some of the current and relevant issues facing the industry, such as climate change, sustainability, money matters, transportation and other logistical issues.
It is also expected that a grand array of coffees and related products and services will be showcased at the event and in front of its international audience. There has been some creative thought into how these products are showcased and so rumour has it that visitors will be able to go on a coffee safari or indulge in other coffee-related social events.
This is a wonderful opportunity for Africa to show the world its prowess and deep historic relationship and understanding of coffee in the modern marketplace.
