Women entrepreneurs invited to coffee event

Once upon a time, women found enormous obstacles in the way of any involvement in the business world. Thankfully, things have changed and there are examples of women in business opportunities all over the place.
One such example is in Kerala. There is a new initiative there, according to reports in the news, which connect women entrepreneurs over coffee. The name of the project is ‘Open Coffee For Women’ and it is said to be the first such event in the State. Who is responsible for this new venture? There are two organisations behind this project: Bridge India, an international staffing company and Views of Women, an organisation which showcases those women who have made a mark in their particular fields.
The idea behind the event is that women and students who would like to network, collaborate, give advice and encouragement to each other and discuss relevant issues, would be welcome at the event. The entrepreneurs of the present and of the future could come from all walks of life and in many different professions. The key is to share stories and concerns, discuss successes and challenges and, ultimately, learn about potential opportunities for future work and involvement. It is about learning from those who have first-hand experience of making a mark in a business area or other field and overcoming obstacles.
The guest speaker is to be Parveen Hafeez and she is the managing director of Sunrise Hospital. Parveen will share her experiences with the audience, with a view to encouraging further discussion.
