Coffee in space
Astronaut Donald Pettit loves his coffee, but is tired of drinking it out of a heated aluminium bag, because it just isn’t quite right.
As he sat in space, 200 miles above the earths surface, Donald dreamt up the On-Orbit Coffee Cup.
The cup works in the weightlessness of space by using the properties of surface tension to hold the coffee in the cup.

Whether the cup will make it to space and if it will actually work when it gets there are yet to be seen, but it’s nice to think that one of our most popular creature comforts, the humble cup of coffee, could be available in outer space.
