Twinings first began as a commercial enterprise back in 1706 when Thomas Twining opened his shop on London’s Strand. The shop is still there today and so, unmistakably, is the quality. With over 300 different varieties of tea that are sold all around the world, Twinings tea is amongst the best anywhere.

The Twinings range includes almost every tea imaginable for any and every purpose, ranging from the “everyday” variety through to speciality varieties such as Earl Grey, Chai and Darjeeling, whilst the firm also provides a wide range of infused, green and even white teas.

Twinings boasts a fantastic selection of organic options across its range that are carefully monitored at sites across the world from planting through to picking. The range also caters for non-caffeine drinkers, offering many teas that are caffeine-free.

The variety really is astounding. The infusion range covers anything from pure camomile through to nettle tea: if there’s a tea out there, you can be sure that Twinings will be able to provide it for you.

One of the many distinguishing factors of Twinings’ tea is the effort that is made to ensure that it is as ethically produced as possible. Twinings is a member of the Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP) which monitors the social standards in areas of its members’ tea production and helps local communities to achieve the standards as set out in the UK Ethical Trading Initiative.

With such a reputation and understanding of social responsibility underpinning the great variety and outstanding quality in its tea, Twinings really is a very special brand indeed; and it is without a doubt worth paying that little bit more for products of unparalleled quality.

Take a look at our range of Twinings Tea

Astronaut Donald Pettit loves his coffee, but is tired of drinking it out of a heated aluminium bag, because it just isn’t quite right.

As he sat in space, 200 miles above the earths surface, Donald dreamt up the On-Orbit Coffee Cup.

The cup works in the weightlessness of space by using the properties of surface tension to hold the coffee in the cup.

Principles of the cup (click image for larger)

Whether the cup will make it to space and if it will actually work when it gets there are yet to be seen, but it’s nice to think that one of our most popular creature comforts, the humble cup of coffee, could be available in outer space.
