Fairtrade Espresso Coffee
  • Grown by the Cosurca cooperative, a composition of 15 farmer associations that came together in the early 90s to pool resources in order to invest in superior equipment and growing techniques. Since then the coop has established a 'Food Security Fund', helping the farmer families to grow their own food in order to survive better, as well as teaching the local communities to start composting in order to provide organic fertilizer for the coffee trees.

Costa Rica

30% Fairtrade Costa Rica SHB Arabica

  • Grown by the Caf– Libertad cooperative, a member of Cafecoop, a consortium of 7 well established and well known cooperatives across Costa Rica. Caf– Libertad is a high quality speciality coffee producer producing HB, SHB and Fancy grades of coffee. This 'Flamingo' variety is one of the highest grades available from Caf– Libertad, with wonderfully clean and sweet flavour balanced by subtle hazelnut undertones. Cafecoop was established as a 'middle man', implementing quality checks and further grading, as well as handling the shipping of the coffee around the world.

Flavour Profile

  • Sweet, nutty and clean with notes of caramel, soft toffee, hazelnut, almond and a slight fruitiness to the finish. Mild and medium bodied, this makes a perfect sweet and creamy latte, or a smooth and light espresso. The darker roast brings out some great chocolate and biscuit notes in the aftertaste.

Brewing Info

  • Ideal Brew Temperature – 88–90 degrees
  • Brewing Notes - A light and delicate blend that needs to be treated gently! Pull tighter for more sweetness and depth of flavour.
