Our top tips for getting the best brew from home.
1) You can only be as good as your materials. Making sure you have the best quality coffee beans is only half the battle, the cafetiere itself is the other half, make sure you invest in quality equipment that will perform to task and stand the test of time.
2) Water is your main ingredient and no one really talks about it much in coffee brewing. If you live in a particularly hard water area this will affect your brew quality. Maybe invest in a water filter and see the difference for yourself?
3) ‘Pre infusion’ can be done by adding a small amount of water to your grounds in the bottom of the cafetiere and stirring before topping up the rest of the water to full capacity. Give it another good stir to make sure all the grounds are fully soaked and leave for 4 to 5 minutes. Take the plunge to get the full flavour released and pour immediately.
