Rainbow coffee to become new hipster trend?

Rainbow latte art 2

We think we’ve stumbled across the newest trend in barista latte art. And we love it.

We’ve seen outlandish milk-foam masterpieces on our coffee for a while now, so much so that it is almost normal to expect it!

But we think that Rainbow coffee is the future!…

Coming all the way from Too Many Chiefs coffee shop, Melbourne, Australia. We think that this might one of the coolest coffee trends in recent years.

The only downside? This isn’t really coffee…

Made with a combination of turmeric, beetroot and matcha green tea, this “coffee” doesn’t actually contain any caffeine.

But we don’t mind.

We applaud the Aussie brothers Jayben and Blair Newson, who have only been in the coffee business for two and a half years in taking on this healthy coffee alternative.

Turmeric lattes are reported to have a whole ream of health benefits, and help cleanse the body of toxins, aid digestion and acts as an anti-inflammatory agent.

For those looking for a sweeter coffee, this concoction is made naturally sweeter by using almond, coconut, soy or macadamia milk.

The Newson brothers are not the first to experiment with rainbow coloured coffees, with Las Vegas based barista Mason Salisbury creating a similar effect earlier this year with food colouring.

Mason adds the food colouring during the milk steaming process before pouring into the espresso.

We would like to think that this trend will catch on here in the UK soon!

It’ll make a change from monochrome Instagram coffee pictures – of which we are guilty of – at the very least!

And we know you all want Rainbow coffee in your lives too!
