It’s Chocolate Week 2018 – Tasty recipes to try

Back for 2018, the tastiest week of the year is here, ready to fill your Monday to Friday with chocolatey-goodness. And we’ve got some new Chocolate-Coffee recipes for you to try out.

Black Forest Coffee

This drink doesn’t get its name from the Black Forest mountain range in south-western Germany, but from the speciality liquor of that region, known as “Schwarzwälder Kirsch(wasser)” and distilled from tart cherries.

Ingredients

  • Espresso
  • Chocolate Syrup
  • Cherry Juice or flavoured syrup
  • Whipped Cream
  • Maraschino cherries
  • Chocolate sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add 20ml Cherry Juice and 40ml Chocolate Syrup to the bottom of the cup
  2. Brew espresso or double espresso and mix with the cherry and chocolate mixture
  3. Foam milk until super-smooth and carefully pour in
  4. Add whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles
  5. Top with a Maraschino cherry before serving

Pink Velvet Hot Chocolate

Getting its name from “Red Velvet” cake, this pink velvet hot chocolate uses white chocolate and cream cheese to create a creamy, pink concoction. Not everyone’s a fan of white chocolate, but those who love its sweet and creamy flavour will love this hot chocolate variation!

Ingredients

  • Vanilla Extract
  • White Chocolate Chips
  • Milk
  • Cream Cheese
  • Strawberry Syrup
  • Whipped Cream
  • Pink Sanding Sugar
  • Pink Food Colouring (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Add white chocolate chips, vanilla extract and cream cheese to a Milk Jug
  2. Add milk and start to heat and froth the milk
  3. Introduce the strawberry syrup to the mixture (and pink food colouring if chosen)
  4. Pour into cup and garnish with whipped cream and pink sanding sugar
  5. Serve!

Dark Chocolate Mocha

Mocha: The chocolate-flavoured variant of a caffè latte – also sometimes known as a mocaccino. Create this dark chocolate variation that has a bit of extra kick.

Ingredients

  • Espresso
  • Milk
  • Dark Cocoa Powder
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Whipped Cream
  1. Start brewing your Espresso
  2. Add your milk, dark cocoa powder and vanilla extract and start frothing it
  3. Pour your espresso into a cup, and add the frothed milk
  4. Add whipped cream and dust with cocoa powder
  5. Serve!
