Coffee around the World: The Espressino

We really enjoy indulgent coffee, we think it’s the only way to serve, prepare and enjoy coffee…well not all the time, but we like trying new concoctions and learning about all things coffee.

If you like Nutella – let’s face it who doesn’t? – then you’ll really like this perfect little dessert coffee.

Unfortunately those with certain nut allergies might have to settle for a standard espresso or maybe they might want to try the Caffe Gommosa

What actually makes an Espressino?

The espressino is a a variation itself on the popular marocchino, which is a rich brown chocolatey drink that hails from Northern Italy, it’s thought that the espressino was created in Alba.

Alba is coincidentally the home of the Italian chocolate giant Ferrero, who are the creators of Nutella.

We’re giving away massive clues as to one of the key ingredients of the nutty espressino.

Consisting of equal parts espresso, and milk, cocoa powder is added to the espresso after brewing and sprinkled on top. All served in a cup with Nutella covering the walls and lip of the cup.

If like us here at Caffe Society, you’re a huge Nutella fiend, then this sounds just like espresso heaven.

The espressino freddo is a cold coffee variation on this drink, with a slight variation on the ingredients.

If you’re confused and want some instruction then check out this superb video courtesy of Whole Latte Love on YouTube:

If you need quality glasses to really serve up Espressinos in style, then look no further than our superb Caffe Society glasses, branded and unbranded. If you would like to serve up Espressinos in a slightly different style, then our white crockery will more than suffice.

Add a layer of chocolate or caramel sauce to the top for an extra level of lucious flavour.

Enjoy.
